Habib Chababi has been an active member of IUOE Local 12 since 1988 working throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Kern, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, performing surveying and managing crews across a diverse spectrum of development projects.

Since founding Vertex Survey Inc. in 2001, Habib is responsible for providing construction staking, boundary and topographic surveys, mapping, aerial topographic surveys, monumentation, ALTA preparation, and legal description services to municipalities, counties, planners, design professionals, contractors, developers, and private parties.

Field surveying projects led by Habib have significantly contributed to the planning, design, and construction of various infrastructures, including residential developments, landfills, roads, bridges, commercial buildings, parks, fire stations, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, and reservoirs. The breadth of experience underscores Habib's commitment to delivering unparalleled expertise, that ensures the success of every project.

Mike Lopez, PLS, brings over four decades of experience to the construction and land surveying industry, holding a position as a Senior Project Surveyor and possessing a professional Land Surveyor license (PLS 8995) in the State of California. Throughout his distinguished career, Mike has played a crucial role in survey supervision coordination, ensuring the flawless execution of projects under his purview. His project leadership responsibilities at Vertex Survey Inc. extend to intricate calculations and analysis, supporting survey crews and upholding the highest standards of accuracy and precision throughout the surveying process.

Mike’s background seamlessly blends field and office procedures, reflecting a robust skill set that encompasses construction stakeout, design, GPS control, GIS, and CADD mapping, topographic mapping, and boundary surveys. His career also has included working as a Certified Party Chief with Local 12, consistently demonstrating a high level of expertise and professionalism.

Rick Estrada has over 19 years of land surveying experience. He is a results-driven Land Surveying Manager recognized for his adept leadership and project management skills. At Vertex Survey Inc., he leads a team of surveyors in the comprehensive planning and execution of land surveying projects, ensuring precision in data collection from project initiation to completion. Rick has a proven track record of maintaining project timelines and budgets; responsibilities have included implementing effective quality control measures, managing surveying equipment inventory, and overseeing maintenance and upgrades to optimize operational efficiency. He is noted for his dedication to maintaining compliance with land surveying regulations and industry standards and earned his PLS license in 2025

With a commitment to maintaining quality standards and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, Simry has achieved many notable engineering and educational accomplishments.

In the role of Land Surveying CAD Manager at Vertex Survey Inc., Simry has successfully led a team of CAD technicians in the preparation of survey drawings for a diverse range of projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking. Simry's initiatives in implementing and managing CAD systems have resulted in a significant reduction in project delivery times and increased overall efficiency. Simry’s engineering educational background and project accomplishments have allowed her to conduct comprehensive training sessions for CAD technicians, fostering skill development and ensuring the team remains up-to-date with the latest industry trends and standards.

Leading our crews that are dispatched from our Santa Clarita office are seasoned Party Chiefs, including 3 Certified Party Chiefs, each boasting an impressive track record with over 100 years of combined experience in the field.

Beyond experience, education plays a pivotal role in our team's expertise. All of our Party Chiefs, Chainmen, and Apprentices either hold certificates or are actively enrolled in the comprehensive apprenticeship program facilitated by IUOE Local 12.
